Welcome  to  The

Returning to Church.png

We have greatly anticipated the day in which we could to an in-house form of worship. We have missed you! Following considerable deliberation, care, concern, and prayer by the Church Leadership Team and myself, we feel as though the time to RETURN has come. Therefore, on Sunday, May 24th at 10:30am, we will reunite, in-house and online, for a celebration service.

Understanding the diversity of thoughts and opinions regarding all things Coronavirus, we acknowledge that for some this may seem too soon and for others, too late. However, we return to in-house worship trusting that each individual and family will make the decision to join us for in-person worship when they feel it appropriate. Furthermore, we trust that the church will model Spirit-led unity through diversity in the days ahead.

For the immediate future, we will operate by a "worship-only" format. This means that apart from a weekly morning worship service, our other ministries will remain online only or cancelled until we deem them safe to resume.

It is important to keep in mind the responsibility that each of us have in protecting one another. We all have a part to play in creating and maintaining a safe environment in which to worship. As with most things in life, opinions vary wildly on what is necessary and what is unnecessary when it comes to combating the Coronavirus. However, scripture is not silent in it’s wisdom when it comes to guiding our interactions as we return. Philippians 2:3b-4 says, “in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Therefore, let this passage be our guide as we put others first and care for their interests above our own as we implement certain safe-guards as we gather this weekend. Below are the precautions that will be taken prior to our service for your safety and the practices that we kindly ask you to participate in when you join us:

  • If you are sick, symptomatic, at high risk or your immune system is compromised, please stay home and participate in the service online.

  • The facility will be thoroughly cleaned/disinfected prior to each service.

    • This includes high-touch areas (doorknobs, light-switches, etc.), pews, restrooms, and floors.

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the facility.

  • The use of a face-mask is a personal choice, however they are recommended.

  • Seating in the pews will be available in socially distant sections.

    • We highly encourage only family members or members of a single-residence to sit together.

    • If the sanctuary becomes full, due to the limited seating, we will be offering livestream overflow seating in the fellowship hall of the Family Life Center.

  • We kindly ask that all enter through the side doors (north-facing) and exit through the front doors (east-facing).

  • Only necessary sections of the facility will be open. (Please respect the signs)

  • A directed dismissal, by row, will take place at the conclusion of the service.

  • Restrooms will be available (in single-use form).

  • Childcare and nursery services will be unavailable. We encourage all children to sit with their parents.

  • There will be no meet and greet time during our service, and we also encourage socially distant forms of greeting only throughout our time together. ( A wave, an air hug, an air high-5, etc.)

  • Digital bulletins and announcement slides will take the place of paper copies temporarily.

  • Congregational singing will be guided by projection. No hymnals or chorus books will be used during our services.

  • Offering will continue to be collected online, via the mail, or in the Alabaster offering receptacle at the rear of the sanctuary.

The word “different” fails to describe the scope of how things will feel as we return to in-house worship this weekend. However, the excitement of being together again far outweighs these sacrifices that must be made for the sake of one another. Please join us in prayer as we ask God’s blessing upon this hope-filled reunion. Until then, we are here to answer any questions you might have that were not addressed above.
